SINGLE REVIEW: Austin Webb "All Country On You"

"All Country On You", Austin Webb's latest single was co-written by Mark Irwin, Josh Kear and Chris Thompkins. You may have already heard two songs the trio co-wrote, Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats and Tyler Farr's Redneck Crazy. With those tunes in mind, the first guitar lick and you know it's going to be about somebody who has done something to someone. This time it is from the perspective of the one who has messed up and what happened in response to those oh so not wise choices.

I can tell you first hand that Austin is one the most hard working, talented and friendliest people around. Not only does he love writing songs and singing but he also takes time to connect with his fans whether that be over social media or in person. He will stay and sign autographs and take pictures with fans until everyone has one. He honestly treats his fans more like friends than fans because he knows without them he wouldn't have a career. Personally that makes me respect and support him even more not just as a songwriter and singer but more importantly a person.

You can keep in contact with Austin on TwitterFacebookInstagram and Official Website. 'All Country On You' will impact country radio on January 5th, 2015 so be sure to call and request it.

Concert Review: WQBE Hunt For Bucks Party with Austin Webb

First of all let me say a huge THANK YOU to Austin Webb as well as his manager Jeff for getting me into the concert. I truly appreciate the effort and the friendliness that you show your fans. Other artists should definitely take notes from you on how to treat their fans more like friends than fans. You go above and beyond and it certainly is not unnoticed so thank you again Austin. :)

Everyone at the event got to enjoy some delicious BBQ and had the chance at winning gift certificates, money, and an Austin Webb  t-shirt and a few lucky fans even won a gift bag with a harmonica in it (I wish that was me lol) After eating and some of the prizes were given away, Austin and his guitar player Josh Pantana came out onstage and performed acoustic which was fantastic! That is true talent when it's just you singing with 2 acoustic guitars. He told stories and joked around between songs which I enjoyed. I always enjoy when artists let loose and everything isn't planned out. He sang 2 of the 3 songs he has released to country radio, It's All Good, Slip On By and Raise 'Em Up as well as one of my personal favorites Getting Even, If You See Her, Don't Give Me No Lip which is always a fun crowd participation song. One of the last songs he sang is his soon to be released new single All Country On You written by Josh Kear, Chris Tompkins and Mark Irwin. It is being released to iTunes and country radio on January 5th, 2015 so be sure and call your local country radio stations and bug them to play it. I know I will be calling WQBE like crazy to play it. :)

After Austin sang he signed autographs and took pictures with everyone that was in attendance. He takes time to talk with each person and takes selfies with whoever wants one which I think makes him even more likable. I love how appreciative he is for his fans because he knows without them he wouldn't have a career. I hope that never changes. We were chatting and I said I liked his bracelet and he said he got it in Arizona and asked if i had been there and I said no and the next thing I know he is taking it off and gave it to me. I also got to meet him guitar player, Josh Pantana who was a super nice and friendly guy.

I don't know about Austin but I consider him to be more of a friend of his than just a fan. I believe in him and his music and he will always have my support. Keep up with everything Austin Webb on his Official WebsiteTwitterFacebookInstagram.

Here are a few pictures from the show. If you have the chance to go to see Austin live and/or meet him DO NOT pass it up.

Songstress Caitlyn Smith releases new EP, Everything To You

Chances are you have heard of Caitlyn Smith and just didn't realize it. The country artist has been a welcome addition to the country music scene with her powerhouse vocals and fresh songwriting. Caitlyn's repertoire includes a long list of songs she has penned for her peers, which include multi-platinum artist Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts and Lady Antebellum. In the past year alone, Caitlyn has toured alongside iconic artists like Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson. She co-wrote every song on her new project, Everything To You, including the popular hit "Wasting All These Tears". (First single of Cassadee Pope)

With a voice that channels the haunting, ethereal tone of Emmylou Harris as much as the ceiling-free range of Carrie Underwood, it's hard to believe Caitlyn Smith has spent more of her Nashville days behind the scenes. Now, Smith is stepping into the spotlight with her highly autobiographical release, Everything To You, a seven-track project full of "intoxicating" ballads and "feel-good" anthems.

From the first "vibrant, energetic" track, "Fever" to Smith "igniting a flame" with "Novocaine" all the way to the show-stopper final track "All My Lovers" it's a rare feat to have every song on a project be just as attention-grabbing as the next - but Everything To You does just that.

You can purchase the EP on iTunes HERE.. Keep up with Caitlyn on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Amber Hayes releases new EP, Running Out Of Memories

I first discovered Amber Hayes' music through Twitter several years ago and from the first time I heard her voice I was a fan. I love that her voice is more on the traditional side which I think country music needs more of amid all the bro-country that is all over country radio. I had the privilege of meeting Amber in Nashville during the CMA Music Festival in June and I can say first hand that she is the sweetest & friendliest person that you will ever meet.

Her previously released EP's "C'Mon" and "Any Day Is A Good Day" are available on iTunes as well as her brand new EP "Running Out Of Memories" which was released today (Nov 4th). You can keep up with Amber on her Official WebsiteTwitter,Facebook, & Instagram.

Gloriana releases new single, Trouble

Warner Music Nashville trio Gloriana made up of brothers Tom & Mike Gossin and Rachel Reinert release Trouble, the follow up single to Best Night Ever from their forthcoming third album. Usually there are a fair amount of harmonizing between the three of them on their songs but for this song Rachel Reinert takes lead and I think she does a great job on the song and sounds amazing.

Gloriana has changed over the years but their sound has always remained the same. I was first introduced to them when they were a quartet back in July 2008 when Taylor Swift invited them to be the first opener on her Fearless Tour. I can proudly say from that night on I have been a loyal fan of theirs and have the amazing chance to meet them twice. They are 3 of the most down to earth and real people you could meet and obviously incredibly talented. They don't get nearly the credit they deserve especially when it comes to awards and industry people in particular.

I recommend downloading it on iTunes and keep up with everything Gloriana on their Official WebsiteFacebookTwitter,Instagram.

Kristy Lee Cook releases new single Lookin' For A Cowgirl

I like many others was first introduced to Kristy Lee Cook on American Idol season 7 and I was a fan from the moment she started singing during her audition and will forever be a fan of hers. I hope to get to meet her one day.

Today Kristy released her new single, Lookin' For A Cowgirl to iTunes today. She is signed to Broken Bow Records. "Lookin' For A Cowgirl", describes me to a T", she tells Rolling Stone Country about the song co-written with Bridgette Tatum.

Originally from Selma Oregon. Kristy is known for her skills on horseback as well as the microphone -- she's a barrel racer and a deft hunter, as talents that would classify one as a cowgirl. "Being a female in the country music world right now is tough", she says. "Aside from just a few women, the men seem to own it," So on "Lookin' For A Cowgirl" there's no sweet pining, no submissive cooing - this is a picture of a woman who isn't planning on laying seductively in the back of her bro-country boyfriend's pickup truck. She's going to drive the thing herself, full throttle."

"Lookin' For A Cowgirl" is a available now for download on iTunes now!

You can follow Kristy on her Official WebsiteTwittele rFacebook.

Dylan Scott charms on new country single 'Lay It On Me'

You can purchase Lay It On Me on iTunes HERE.

Country singer Dylan Scott is back with his charming forthcoming radio single "Lay It On Me" where he shows his soft side. Scott co-wrote the song with fellow songwriter Josh Kear. It was produced by Matt Alderman and Jim Ed Norman for Curb Productions, Inc. It was released today via his record label Sidewalk Records.

His baritone vocals are catchy. and slightly reminiscent of country star Dustin Lynch meets Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line. The lyrics are warm, fun, and pleasant, with a radio-friendly vibe to them. Dylan Scott's "Lay It On Me" is leaps and bounds better than his previous single "Mmm,Mmm,Mmm". Scott is such an underrated artist in the country genre and he deserves to be heard. It is one of his best singles to date along with "Makin' This Boy Go Crazy".

Q&A with Brandon & Jamie Fraley of Two Story Road

Brandon and Jamie Fraley first met each other while attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Fans may recognize them from touring with other artists. Brandon has touring with the likes of Gretchen Wilson and was the background vocalist & piano player for Danny Gokey for many years. Likewise, Jamie has toured with Jaci Velasquez and most recently was the background vocalist for Carrie Underwood from 2008 to 2012. I was first introduced to Two Story Road's music through being a fan of Jamie while she was touring with Carrie. They are two of the most down to earth and talented people I have had the pleasure of meeting. If you have the opportunity to see them in concert and/or meet them I wouldn't pass it up. Thanks again Brandon and Jamie for taking the time to do this interview. :-)

1. How would you describe your sound?
I guess you could say we fit into the "country pop" category. We definitely enjoy combining the instrumentation of country music and embedding some modern day sounds into it. We recently played to a packed out crowd at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville and there was a large group of people doing line dancing for pretty much every song we played. We absolutely love seeing stuff like that. It's always a nice feeling when you know you audience is having as much fun as we are on stage.

2. What are a few things you learned from touring with Carrie Underwood, Danny Gokey, Gretchen Wilson, etc that you will use in your own career?
We get asked this question a lot and the answer is always the same. Hard work always pays off in the end. No matter if you're just starting out as a new artist, like we are, or you're one of the biggest artists on the planet, like Carrie is, you have to continue to work hard every day. From what we've seen over the years, it seems like success for an artist can come & go like waves in the ocean. When you've got it, you need to ride that wave for as long as you possibly can.

3. What do you think is the key to having your music heard and a successful career?
We believe that whatever kind of success we have will be a direction reflection of our fans. Because of that, we try really hard at engaging them through social media. We want them to feel connected to us. We feel like the more that fans can feel a part of the process of a new act (like us) growing in popularity, the more they'll take ownership of it and know they played a huge role in the growth. It's so important to us that they feel appreciated and never taken for granted. Whenever we win our first televised Country Music Award, we're only going to have a few moments to thank people. Most artists usually thank the fans during that speech and of course we will too. However, we hope that we will have done enough that when we finally get to say "We want to thank our fans for being so incredible to us," we'll have the type of connection with them that they'll know how much we mean it!

4. What are a few of your favorite venues to play in and around the Nashville area?
We've been lucky enough to play the Wildhorse several times now and there's always a great energy when we're on that stage. We recently had the extreme honor of playing our first show at the Bluebird Cafe and that was probably the most magical room we've been in. The Listening Room is another place we always look forward to playing at. However, if we're being perfectly honest, our absolute favorite venue is one we've played at countless times, just never as Two Story Road. To us, the Grand Ole Opry is the most coveted stage in Nashville to be on. Without sounding corny, we believe with everything that's inside of us that Two Story Road will be standing in the center of that stage one day soon.

5. Who are a few artist that you would love to open for?
This is another question we get asked a lot. For us, touring is more than just performing each night. Our answer to this question factors in the whole "tour life". Whoever you're on tour with, you see a lot of. It's always nice when you can tour with people who you're already friends with. With that in mind, we're really good friends with Carrie and Hunter as well as their entire band and crew. We also think that our music is similar to theirs and would like to believe that their fans would enjoy our music. Keith Urban, Little Big Town, & Lady Antebellum would also make the list.

6. Which of your songs do you enjoy playing live most and why?
That's a tough question because when you're a songwriter, you love all your songs. It really depends on the audience we're playing to. Overall, "By The Light Of The Moon" is always a fun one to do. It's got a good beat, it almost has a little 'swampy' feel to it, & the lyrics are fun to sing. We'll end it there because if we start listing more, it'll never end! :-)

7. What is the best advice you have been given and who gave it to you?
This answer is similar to the one we gave earlier about learning things from other artists. The advice wasn't exactly spoken to us, it was shown to us. Over the years, seeing Carrie's success continue to climb, so did her work ethic. We can't begin to tell you how hard she works every day. Some people may assume that when you reach that level, you can just kind of "coast". Not her. As popular as she may be in country music, she never stops perfecting her craft. I'm sure we can all agree that just when we thought her voice couldn't get any stronger, a new song comes out & she wows us like never before. Case in point, how absolutely amazing does she sound on "Something In The Water"!?

8. Who are a few of your musical influences?
Brandon - Like millions of others I was a huge Stevie Wonder fan growing up. As I started taking piano lessons, I started gravitating to other piano players like Michael W. Smith & Bruce Hornsby. Once I began singing & really enjoying it, I was listening to artists across many genre's. Mariah Carey, Amy Grant, Boyz II Men, Vince Gill and Brian McKnight to Bryan White.

Jamelle - I was also a huge fan of Mariah Carey. I would sing along to her records in my room at the top of my lungs to the point that my parents had to come upstairs to get me for dinner, because I couldn't hear them YELLING for me from downstairs. Whitney Houston, Martina McBride, & Faith Hill were also frequently blasting away.

9. When you are writing a song, which typically comes first the lyrics or the melody?
There's not an exact science to songwriting but more often than not, we start with lyrics, or at least the idea behind the story of the song. The melody typically gets written as the lyrics start to come forward. I'm sure if you asked 5 other songwriters, you could quite possibly get 5 different answers. Regardless of the process, it's always an adventure creating something from nothing.

10. Who would you like to write or collaborate with given the opportunity?
The easiest way to answer that is by saying which artists we hear in our own music. Having nothing to do with the fact that we're friends with some of these folks, we'd have to say that we could really do something fun collaborating with Carrie, Hunter, Keith, Little Big Town, or Rascal Flatts. Again, we feel like our style is somewhat similar to those artists. We feel like at one point or another, they've all influenced our music, so working with them would be a very organic thing to do.

11. If you were given the opportunity to do a CMT Crossroads episode who would you want to do it with?
Wow. Great question. We're pretty sure someone already beat us to the punch, but we've known Ryan Tedder from One Republic for over 10 years. We've loved the music he & his band have put out & always thought it'd be fun to re-connect with them for a Crossroads event.

12. What song do you wish you had written?
Brandon - "The House That Built Me" - I've got a list of favorite songs but I distinctly remember where I was when I heard that song for the first time. Every single word of that lyric, in my opinion is perfect.

Jamelle - hmmm. Thousands of possible answers for this one. I think i'll go with one of my oldest favorites. Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance". What a song!

13. What are 3 of your favorite albums (any genre) right now?
We often after the same taste in music. We're both big John Mayer fans & "Continuum" & "Battle Studies" have been playing a lot lately in the house. Sara Bareilles's "Kaleidoscope Heart" & "Little Voice" constantly resurface in our playlist as well.

14. What is your favorite part(s) of being a country music duo?
Being an artist in general is a lot of work. We feel like the biggest advantage we have is being able to divvy up the responsibility between the two of us. Everything from working the stage, writing a song, to doing interviews. We are constantly helping each other out. We're both good at different things so it's great to be able to lean on one another depending on the task that's in front of us.

15. When you begin touring, what are 3 things you will require on your rider?
The biggest thing is having a wide variety of gluten free food. With both of us having allergies to gluten, that's a must-have! We both have a fondness for dark chocolate so I wouldn't be surprised if that makes the list. Also, we could probably survive for quite some time on pistachios alone, so that would be a great rider item. Other than that, we're pretty easy going people. Who knows, maybe after enough time passes we'll learn how to be diva's & demand only green M&M's. :-)

16. Who are your celebrity crushes?
Ok. I (Brandon) personally think this type of question has a double standard. I think it's fine for a girl to think some guy is cute. However, I don't think that guys (especially those who are married) have the same ability to be honest. However, you asked the question, so we'll answer.

Brandon - I think the blonde from Two Story Road is smokin' hot. (c'mon did you really expect a different answer?)
Jamelle - Aww. Well, I had a whole 'nother answer starting to formulate in my head, but I guess now i'm supposed to say B.Fraley!! Just kidding...obviously he is my one and only. But I don't think he'd mind too much if I confess that I kinda adore Wolverine from X-Men. Yep, Hugh Jackman. But mainly only when he plays Wolverine. There's just something about that mutant...
Brandon - Ok. I'm changing my answer now...HA!

17. What are a few of your favorite gluten free foods?
Our favorite gluten free foods are the same as everyone else's. Pizza, pasta, chocolate chip cookies, ice cream, pancakes,etc...I don't think there's any food you could think of that doesn't have a gluten free version. The problem is trying to remember though the excitement that just because it's gluten free. doesn't mean it's fat or calorie free...yikes! :-)

Casey James releases new single Fall Apart on iTunes

Columbia Nashville recording artist Casey James releases his eagerly awaited new single Fall Apart from his yet to be released sophomore album. Long time fans will remember Casey from his time on Season 9 of American Idol.

Co-written by Will Bowen and the duo Kingston (twin brothers Josh & Zach Carter). "Fall Apart" is a 6/8 time heartbreak ballad, and eschews much-maligned bro-country tropes to focus on the angst of not being able to avoid and ex while still aching from a break up.

"Fall Apart" will be Casey first single since 2013's "The Good Life" which didn't make much of a mark. But Casey does have the Top 20 Mediabase peaking "Let's Don't Call It A Night" and the #14 peaking "Crying On A Suitcase" as hits from his debut album, and the hope is that "Fall Apart" will return him to the Top 20 and enable to release his sophomore album via Columbia Nashville. There is no official add date for the song yet at radio, but SiriusXM The Highway is spinning the song - a smart way to build a little buzz and maybe get an early jump on sales for the single.

You can purchase Fall Apart on iTunes HERE.

Carrie Underwood releases inspirational song 'Something In The Water'

It may be hard to believe but it has almost been a decade since Carrie Underwood won season 4 of American Idol and the country superstar is celebrating with a best-of album, Carrie Underwood Greatest Hits: Decade #1 which will be released on December 9th. As well as a celebratory new single, Something In The Water, written by Underwood, Brett James & Chris DeStefano was officially released today (September 29th).

Underwood pulls out all her strongest, boldest notes for the religious anthem. Starting off with a round of banjos and slide guitars, "Something In The Water" builds to some of the greatest heights Underwood has reached to date, thanks to her powerhouse country croon and perhaps a little help from the Almighty.

Miles above the driving beat, Underwood sings about finding Jesus, finding light and getting stronger from the light and the water of baptism.

"Then somebody said what I was saying to you / Opened my eyes and told me the truth / Said, 'Just a little faith and it'll all get better' / I followed that preacher man down to the river / And now I'm changed / And now i'm stronger/ There must have been something in the water," she belts out in the inspirational chorus.

There's even a little Amazing Grace thrown in for good measure.

Josh Turner Debuts New Song, 'Lay Low'

Josh Turner has released his new single, 'Lay Low' from his upcoming new album. The tune, written by Ross Copperman, Tony Martin and Mark Nesler, was one the country crooner knew he wanted to record the first time he heard it.

"[The song] painted a mental picture of our cabin and how secluded it is. It's where we go to get away from it all and reconnect with each other, to be reminded of what's most important, he tells Rolling Stone Country. "Laying low is something Jennifer and I love to do. We most always have to make the time to do it, because as you can imagine, we don't just have ample amounts of idle time."

With lines like, "I wanna drive until my cell phone/ Runs out of range and every bar is gone/ Cut through the woods another hundred miles/ I wanna hear raindrops falling down on an old tin roof/ Wanna find a front porch trail and chop up my traveling boots...Spend a few days together alone/ And just lay low," the song helped set the direction for his upcoming album which he admits was a difficult one to record.

"When it came time for this record, I didn't have a direction," Turner admits. "I didn't know what I was supposed to be writing towards. I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing or saying."

Thankfully, he said he was able to gain the clarity he needed to record the new set of tunes, which is his first release since his 2012 No.1 album Punching Bag."

"The basic standards i've always held for my music still apply to this record, but i've definitely taken a step back and looked at what today's environment is and how my music can fit into that," Turner notes. "I don't follow trends, and I've always followed my heart, whether my music fits in or not, but I want to be a player in the game and continue to evolve as an artist. This record, so far, has great musicianship, great melodies and lyrics that today's audience can relate to.

"I don't know if I've totally found the way to do it yet, but I definitely feel like i'm headed in the right direction," he adds. "This is gonna be a sweet record -- regardless of what happens once it gets out there -- because I've worked my butt off for this one."

It's a busy fall for the 36-year-old, in addition to welcoming his fourth child, Samuel Hawke Turner, into the world on Sept 4, Turner is also heading out on the road next month for a series of shows, including stops in North Dakota, Alabama and New Mexico, as well as a performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. Dylan Scott entertains enthusiastic crowd at Racine Party In The Park

You may or may not have heard of Sidewalk Records recording artist Dylan Scott who hails from Monroe, Louisiana but one thing is for certain, he is here to stay. With his smooth baritone vocals, relatable song lyrics, and a likability with fans, I have no doubt Dylan Scott will have a long and successful career. He currently has a 5 song self-titled EP available on iTunes which includes the first song he released to country radio "Makin' This Boy Go Crazy", as well as his current single at radio now titled "Mmm,Mmm,Mmm".

Last night, September 12th, I went to see Dylan for the first time with a few of my family members and we were all impressed with his entire show; vocals, stage presence and likeability. He has it all in my opinion to  be as successful as Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, etc. He brings tons of energy on stage and doesn't stand still for very long and interacts with the crowd quite a bit. He sings a wide variety of songs, from the ones he has written himself to cover songs of rap and traditional country songs such as Fishin' In The Dark by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and When You Say Nothin' At All by Keith Whitley among others. One of the standout moments of the show was when his band left the stage and it was just him and an acoustic guitar for a few songs. In my book that is true talent. One of my favorite covers that he did other than the Keith Whitley song was Country Man by Luke Bryan. A few of my favorites of his original songs that he had written or co-written are Lay It On Me, Passenger Seat and Beer Buddies. I strongly encourage you to go see Dylan Scott live if you have the oppurtunity. He is a phenomenal performer and one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. After he performed he signed autographed and took pictures with anyone that wanted one. He recognized me from Twitter and meeting him in Nashville during the CMA Music Festival because I brought the picture of us for him to sign.

Tyler Barham releases lyric video for More Than A Cotton Dress

Tyler Barham enlisted fans to bring a personal touch to the lyric video for his current single, "More Than A Cotton Dress". Female followers were asked to tweet a selfie holding a sign describing one non-physical thing about themselves with the hash tag #morethanacottondress. Photo submissions came in from all over the country and even as far away as Australia, even garnering a selife from a US Olympian.

"This song is a necessary reminder and a beautiful reassurance that we are SO much more than a hairstyle and lipstick shade. We are brave and bold and silly and kind and loyal and quirky and intelligent and talented. The true test of beauty is not for a mirror to decide. It is the strength of the light from within--it is how willing we are to be our unique selves in a society of stereotypical expectations. So as you listen to the lyrics, think of a quality that defines the REAL you--a quality that you identify with most, a quality that has been your driving force, a quality that gives you purpose and passion. You are more than a pretty face and "a cotton dress", you are (insert wonderful quality here)." -Natasha Greene

Q & A with Streamsound Records artist Austin Webb

First off I want to thank Austin for agreeing to do this interview and also Jeff from his record label for passing on the question to Austin. Austin grew up in the Greenville, South Carolina area and moved to Nashville in 2011. He is produced by Byron Gallimore who also produces Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Leann Womack among others and is the founder of the label Austin is signed to, Streamsound Records. His debut single Slip On By made it into the Top 40 on the charts. His current single is Raise 'Em Up which you can download on iTunes. I can say from personal experience there is not a more down to earth, humble, talented person than Austin, he is the entire package. If you have not seen him live or met him and have the oppurtunity don't pass it up.

1. For fans that may not be introduced to you yet, give us an introduction on how you started your music career and were discovered.

I started writing when I was 9, started touring when I was 15, won a songwriting contest in 2011, moved to Nashville, and got a record deal in 2012.

2. For fans new to your music, how would you describe your sound?

Country Soul.

3. Were you surprised at the response and success of your second single at country radio, Slip On By, and how did you discover the song?

I'm humbled and grateful to have any of my music ever on country radio. "Slip On By" was a gift. I heard it on Christian radio and knew it was a great song that spoke to country music fans. That song certainly got me noticed a lot more in some circles. The next single is gonna be my breakthrough.

4. Who are a few of your musical influences?

Kris Kristofferson, Elvis Presley, Vince Gill, Bob Dylan, and Billy Preston.

5. You have had the oppurtunity to play a lot of venues of various sizes; what venue(s) have been your favorite to play so far?

My favorite venues are the ones where the fans are closest to the stage.

6. I know you are very active on your social media accounts, How important to your career do you think it is, and which one do you preference most?

The country music fans are the most important things in the whole format. I'm grateful and lucky to be able to communicate and connect with my fans. It's very important.

7. What is your life motto?

"There ain't but three things in this world worth a solitary dime...but old dogs and children and watermelon wine." My favorite lyric by Tom T. Hall.

8. What do you like to do in your free time?

I'm too young in this business to have free time. Any downtime I get, I'm working on how I can improve as an artist and human being.

9. What are a few of your future goals that you hope to accomplish in your career?

I'd like to do a couple of separate duets with my favorite female singers - Cassadee Pope and Maggie Rose. I'd like to have a Top 10 single on the radio. Tour with Cassadee Pope and Tim McGraw. Own a winery and Basset hound farm.

10. What country artists do you currently listen to?

Right now I listen to everyone. I'm such a fan of all the new artists out there and feel great to be a part of this class. I like Charlie Worsham, Natalie Stovall and The Drive, Drake White, Leah Turner, Lindsey Ell, Maggie Rose. I can't wait to hear them on the radio regularly alongside the talented superstars like Luke, Tim, and Aldean.

11. I know you are working on your debut album; can you say what the status of that is and if there is a possible release date?

I've recorded fifteen songs, had one Top 40 single, and I'm ready to release my new one soon! I believe my debut album will follow after this next single!

Highway Run release debut EP 'Dust That Record Off'

Newcomers Highway Run made up of Brandon Ray & Alyssa Claar release debut EP Dust That Record Off exclusively to iTunes. The influences and experiences of both Alyssa Claar and Brandon Ray's singing, songwriting, and performing fall between pretty much any genre you can think of in music today, bluegrass, rock, pop, country, etc. Packed with power and sensitivity, wit and excitement, emotion and a connection unlike their peers, Highway Run fills a room and concert with memories and catchy tunes.

Ray's songwriting was recognized immediately by powerhouse company, Horipro Entertainment, who signed him to a publishing contract. Shortly after, he received and signed a production deal with Freeway Creative Group to record his first EP. His original songs have been co-written with legends like Dean Dillon and Hillary Lindsey. His catalog continued to grow in popularity with songs like "Summer Thing" and "21 Tonight" that easily became fan favorites. Brandon continues to record and is amping up the game by combining his efforts with Alyssa Claar. As a regular performer at Nashville's infamous The Stage, she learned to use her theatrical vocal skills to really reign in the crowd and give them a show that lasts. She has performed with Rascal Flatts Lynyrd Skynyrd, Poison, Trick Pony and Seether to name a few. She has proven to successfully bridge the gap of rock and country. The power of Highway Run is non-sensical powerful, yet humble performances the two individuals come together in to unite.

On a personal level sometimes I have trouble adjusting to the fact that country music as a genre isn't what is used to be sound wise but after my first listen to Highway Run I was a fan. Both of their voices sound so in sync with one another and fit perfectly together. I definitely recommend checking out the EP on iTunes and don't forget to write a review and rate it to help the chart position. I will post links below of where to keep in contact with Highway Run on their social media sites.

Jackson County Junior Fair Concerts 2014

The Jackson Country Junior Fair was held the last week of July just like years past. This was my 7th year in a row attending the fair and it did not disappoint. They always have a very friendly staff working down at the stage where the concerts are held and they managed to get a variety of artists to perform throughout the week. I attended the fair three nights this year, Tuesday for rising country duo Dan + Shay (lead vocalist Shay Mooney & Dan Smyers), Thursday for legendary country band Diamond Rio and ended the week on a fantastic note seeing  rising star Austin Webb plus Jamie Lynn Spears on Saturday.

Tuesday, July 22, 2014
I got to the fair a few hours before Dan + Shay took the stage because I wanted to get a meet & greet to meet them before they performed which I was able to do. It was incredibly hot & humid that evening but worth it because those guys are incredibly appreciative of their fans support and friendly. They thanked me for supporting them by buying their album. The meet and greet wasn't very long as I was the first person in line but it was great getting the oppurtunity to meet them. They sang their first single which was 19 You And Me, their current single out to country radio called Show You Off as well as songs from their debut album that was released earlier this year such as Stop Drop + Roll, Party Girl, Close Your Eyes, among others. I was able to get their set list after the concert which is a nice keepsake. If you have the chance to see them in concert and/or meeting them I recommend going. You won't be disappointed.

This night was easily the most special and memorable for me because I have been a Diamond Rio fan ever since I can remember basically so to meet them was amazing. I got to the fairgrounds a couple hours early like usual and hadn't planned on meeting them but I was hoping I would be able to. When I first asked they weren't sure if there was enough meet & greet passes but a little while later they ended up giving me one and I was just sitting next to the stage waiting for time to get in line for the meet & greet and Jimmy Olander who is the guitar player was standing around with his guitar on and started talking to me. He thought I was someone he knew from Nashville but then we got to talking about his kids and how i'd wanted to see them live for a long time. He is a very friendly guy. Before too long the other guys in the band showed up and as usual I was first in line but they didn't allow autographs so I got my pictures with them & then it was basically over.

Before too long they took the stage and played a lot of their hits over the years such as Meet In The Middle, Beautiful Mess, How Your Love Makes Me Feel, I Believe, One More Day (one of my favorites), You're Gone, Walkin' Away. They sang a melody of a few of their less popular songs as well as newer songs from their Christian album. They loved that people were singing along and encouraged those who weren't to do so. They were very interactive with the crowd which was one of the biggest crowds I have ever seen at the fair. They signed autograph for fans after they were finished performing so I got in line and when I got up to them my mom and I said they put on a great show & I said it was great to meet them and Jimmy said "It was great to meet you too Cassandra" which made me happy that he actually knew my name. I would definitely go see these guys live again if given the oppurtunity. For a band that has been touring for 23 years they still sound as good as they did when they started.

This night was extra special because I have became friends with Austin Webb and i'm a huge supporter of his music career so I loved being able to see him again and be able to talk with him. Some bad thunderstorms were coming through the arena so he didn't end up taking the stage until 30 or 45 minutes after he was supposed to and he didn't have a huge crowd due to the stormy weather but he still put on a great show.

I was first in line for his meet and greet and as he came over the hill past everyone else he had a huge smile on his and yelled "Hey Cassandra!" and when he got over to me he hugged me and asked me how I was and that it had been forever since he saw him (even though it had only been a month and a half) lol I caught him up on my life and we got to talking about Nashville and how I want to work there at a record label and do artist promotion and he told me that I should do that because I am great at it and encouraged me to send in resumes for it. He also told me he really appreciate all of my support and promoting him & his music career. Before we took our picture he asked me if I wanted to take a selfie and I was like sure so we did and then took a regular picture then he hugged me and it was over.

It started storming soon after so they had to delay the concert so he came out and talked to the people who were in the crowd and took pictures with everyone and was chatting with me and my mom for a few minutes. I don't think there is a more down to earth and friendly guy in the country music industry then Austin. He truly is a great guy and treats his fans more like friends which I love. When he was finally able to take the stage he sang his first single he released to country radio Slip On By as well as his current sound out to radio called Raise 'Em Up which if you don't request it at country radio I would recommend doing so. He sang several cover songs such as Hound Dog by Elvis Presley. After he sang he signed autographs for anyone that wanted to meet him so I went over and talked to him again and he thanked me for coming and for all the support. Amazing guy.
Our selfie Austin took :P

Janelle Arthur releases first single What You Asked For to iTunes

American Idol season 12 Alum Janelle Arthur releases first single "What You Asked For" to iTunes today (July 29). Janelle came in fifth place in a season that was full of talented girls. It has been a little over a year since she competed on the show, but finally, the country singer is releasing some new music.

The singer has also signed on with a PR Firm. Janelle has been performing in and around the Nashville area, including a recent appearance at the Grand Ole Opry. She is appearing there tomorrow (July 30). Check Opry.com for times.

Janelle grew up performing at Dollywood and singing around her hometown of Oliver Spring, TN. She has a more traditional country voice which I think is refreshing and much needed especially on country radio. As great of a voice as Janelle has and as fan-friendly as she is in person and on social media I have no doubt that Janelle will have a long and successful career in country music.

You can stay in contact with Janelle through her social media sites: FacebookTwitterInstagram,

Natalie Stovall and The Drive release new single Mason Jar

HitShop Records/Warner Records group Natalie Stovall and The Drive release their second single Mason Jar available on iTunes Amazon and Google Play. "Mason Jar" is the follow-up to the group's Top 50 debut song "Baby Come On With It". Both songs are expected to be on the band's debut album, which will be released on HitShop/Warner Brothers Records.

"Mason Jar" features Natalie's deep, sultry, and strong vocals; complementary background vocals from the Drive; and heavy strings and percussion supplied by the talented band. The background vocals are especially prevalent on this song, creating a new layer to the track, echoing Natalie's lead and supplementing it beautifully.

It is simply impossible to listen to this song and not want another glassful of what Natalie Stovall and the Drive is serving up. "Mason Jar" is a fun, uplifting song that approaches a woman's attraction to a man in a unique way that will leave Natalie Stovall and the Drive fans excited to find out what else they will discover on the group's upcoming full-length album.

I had the pleasure of meeting Natalie Stovall and the Drive while I was in Nashville in June for the annual CMA Music Festival and I can say full hand that they all deserve the recognition and success they are receiving and are the nicest and most genuine people you can meet. If you have the oppurtunity to see them live and/or meet them don't pass up the oppurtunity.

You can keep up with everything Natalie Stovall and the Drive on their Official Website,Twitter,Facebook,YouTube,& Instagram.
